Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler

Over the years I have tried many of the drug store brand curlers, and I never could find one that was worth the effort. I always found the whole process a bit scary, especially after nearly blinding myself with one. On the off chance I didn’t cause bodily harm, the problem was that either my eyes were too large, and only the middle of my eyelashes would get curled with a truly unflattering giant crease, or the contraption would completely pinch the tiny hairs at the corners of my eyes causing an incredible amount of pain for such a small area. And if I did accomplish what I thought to be a successful curling, and I applied the mascara, the lashes would look no different than if I had never curled them in the first place.

I couldn’t imagine why people would subject themselves to such torture for such a minimal pay off. Could an eyelash curler make all that much difference and give you that “it looks like you’re wearing false lashes” kind of look? I really didn’t think so, and I chalked it up to marketing hype until I read about the Shu Uemura eyelash curler.

Several beauty magazines had put it at the top of their must buy list, so of course it made my need to try list. I went to my local department store and picked one up. So, I went home and tried it out, and I was pleasantly surprised. Not only did it fit my entire eye, it also gave me a very nicely curled lash, with no pinching! And the silicone rubber strip prevents the horrible creased eyelash effect. Now I don’t know whether it gave me a fake lashes look, but it did give me a very finished look that did open up my eyes.
