Wimbledon 2008

It's that time of year again, tennis season is upon us. But not just any tennis...Wimbledon tennis. For two weeks every year, tennis players from all over the world battle it out on the grass courts of The All England Club to become champion of the most prestigious tennis tournament. And I love every minute of it: the whites, the amazing athletes and of course the strawberries and cream. It's the most posh sporting event on tv... or it could rival the scene at the Kentucky Derby, but I'd give it to Wimbledon. C'mon, it's all so English and civilized, and by far my favorite sporting event.

In case you missed it yesterday, the tournament had its first day of play. All of the big names are in attendance, Sharapova, the Williams sisters, Roddick, Federer, Nadal and many more - it promises to be an exciting two weeks, and every
now and than I'll give some updates on amazing
plays, fashion critiques - Serena Williams will provide lots of possible topics of discussion, she designs her won outfits-yikes, or just a round up of who is still playing and who has already been eliminated.


Update: Venus Williams is passed the first round beating Britain's Naomi Cavaday.

Sharapova, Davenport, Nadal and Roddick all play today as well.
