Wimbledon Update

Well, I have to say when the big players were ousted in major upsets earlier in the tournament, it took some of the enjoyment away from this year's Wimbledon for me. And the payers who have advanced into the final round we have seen face off before- so not really all that amped about it.The ladies' championship round which is on Saturday, will be yet another showdown between the Williams' sisters. To be honest I can't remember how many times this has happened since the sisters have been on the tour, but the match is always so anticlimactic for me. Do the sisters really try as hard as they would if they were playing someone else, have they already decided amongst themselves who will win this time around? It just seems like we are watching one long practice round between the sisters. I'm thinking that Venus will take it yet again, which will be her fifth win at Wimbledon.

The men's final will be on Sunday, and it's another battle between Nadal and Federer. This match holds more appeal simply because of the whooping Nadal gave Federer at the French Open. Historically, grass favors Federer, but it will be interesting to see who comes out on top of the match because Nadal is simply relentless. My bet is on Federer, and the win would be his sixth at Wimbledon.

I guess we'll have to wait and see what the US Open holds in store, hopefully we'll see some newbies in the finals.
