I saw Pineapple Express a few days ago, and I have to say it's one of the funniest movies I've seen in a while. It's nothing brilliant, it is after all stoner flick, but was very entertaining. The basic premise is that under achiever, Dale Denton (played by Seth Rogen) sees a murder and flees the scene. The murderers, of course also drug lords, are able to trace who they saw witness their hit because of some very rare weed Denton left on the scene. The weed happens to be one of the murdering drug lord's products, and that means they know how to find the witness. Denton meanwhile flees back to his dealer, Saul Silver's (played by James Franco) house, and realizes that sooner or later the baddies will know where to find them, so they decide to go on the run. It's a classic buddy movie with some really fantastic lines. Franco is the total star of this movie; he's got perfect comedic timing and plays the nice guy pot head to utter perfection. I'm pretty sure some of the best scenes of the movie were Franco and Rogen just ad-libbing - they just play off each other so well.
Some of the fight scenes got a little long, some of it's totally random and it was a little more violent than I thought it was going to be, but I guarantee you will laugh during this one. If you liked Superbad, you will definitely like Pineapple Express.
