Pacific Perfumes - Soaps

A while back I reviewed my favorite cream perfumes by Pacific Perfumes, and recently I tried out their natural Tamanu oil soaps. These are totally eco-friendly soaps and come in the same amazing scents as the solid fragrances. They have a natural vegetable base and are enriched with Tamanu oil and coco butter. I am a huge fan of coco butter; it has excellent moisturizing properties that leaves your skin feeling super soft, but I haven't heard of Tamanu oil, so I did a bit research.

Tamanu oil is renowned for its ability to heal and maintain healthy skin. It has been used in the South Pacific for generations to heal cuts, lessen the appearance of scars, treat acne, and relieve sunburn, just to name a few of the many uses. The oil sounded pretty great, so I couldn't wait to give the soap a whirl.

I tired the soap in Pacific Goddess and Frangipani ( I think people would recognize this better as Plumeria with a hint of Jasmine and citrus - very soft and ladylike). Of course the soaps smell fantastic, and the lather was incredible! I use a mesh sponge, and I usually have to keep rubbing bars of soap on the sponge to build a lather, which wastes so much of the bar. Not so with these soaps, you only have to rub a little and you have a sponge full of creamy luxurious lather. I was a little worried about using a bar soap during the winter because I have such dry skin, but it wasn't a problem, and of course you always apply lotion after a shower to lock in the moisture to your skin. My skin felt so soft and smooth after using the soap, so much better than any body wash or other bar soap I have used.

And the packaging the soap comes in is pretty cool too - the box uses no toxic glues, instead it uses a bunch of folds and flaps to create a box, which is made up of 100% recycled card stock. Not only is the product good for your skin, it's completely earth friendly. Truly excellent products that are definitely worth trying out.
