Balmshell Lip Glosses

I recently tried a new lip gloss called Balmshell, a Canadian line of glosses developed by identical twin sisters, Jennifer and Fiona Lees. The concept behind Balmshell was to create a high quality gloss that moisturizes lips, and deliver it in eye catching packaging. And that's what catches your eye right away, the packaging. It's a tube of gloss on one end, and kitschy "float art" on the other. If you don't know what float art is, think of those pens that have water in them, and if you tip it upside down, the illustration moves a little. Each shade matches the image of the flow art, creating a cute story to go with the name of the gloss. You can also detach the flow art side and screw it into a key ring that comes with the gloss.

What I really like about the gloss is that it's not tacky at all, and there's not a ton of flashy
glitter in it. It also comes in a nice range of sheer shades that vary in shimmer intensities. The color I tried out was You Give Me Fever, a sheer rosy color that looks very fresh on the lips, perfect for spring time. My only issues with the gloss are that I have to re-dip the applicator quite a few times to get the right amount of gloss on my lips (for some reason the brush doesn't pick up much of the gloss, and it's gets a bit old dipping so many times), and I like a gloss to have a little more shine. If you're looking for a daytime gloss, or a layering gloss with very sheer pigmentation, it's a great option. And it keeps your lips feeling great. To check out other shades, or to see the other flow art options, visit the Balmshell site.
