Maybelline's latest mascara is a big change from their other giant neon tubes and over sized brushes. Taking inspiration from a pair of 5 inch sexy heels, the new Lash Stiletto boasts it's the "only mascara that does for lashes what stilettos do for legs." It comes in a tube that was designed to look like a the heel of a shoe - very glamorous, and the Grip and Extend brush is supposed to lengthen lashes like other brush before. It also contains a Pro-Vitamin b-5 formula to give your lashes a black patent shine. So over all, your lashes are supposed to look as if you were wearing false lashes, like the promo picture below. I was expecting quite a bit when I tried this mascara

out, after all, Maybelline does promise a lot. The first thing I noticed when you open the mascara, it has a kind of rose scent, which does linger for an hour or so after you apply it. The scent didn't really bother me that much, but I prefer unscented mascaras, and I don't think my lashes need to smell nice. The brush is very easy to maneuver around your eye, but watch out, the bristles are kind of stiff, so be careful not to irritate the lid.
I did get some great length, but the formula is very wet, and if you apply a few coats, the lashes tend to stick together. If you're only swiping a few times, the mascara does separate and lengthen nicely. I didn't notice a black patent shine to my lashes, but it is a very nice true black, so if you have light lashes it will give them a great black finish. Don't expect any volumizing from this mascara, it's only goal it to make your lashes longer, and it does flake a little, but nothing too dramatic. Overall, it does a pretty good job adding length to your lashes, but don't expect them to look like false lashes, that's a wee exaggeration.
