I bought the NARS color stick which is called, “The Multiple” as a counter point to Stila’s Convertible Colors to see how it fared. I have to say I much prefer the stick to the color pot for ease of application. But the two products are very different. The Stila product is a cream and is intended for cheeks and lips, whereas the NARS stick is a cream that turns to powder once on the face that can be used as a blush, an eye shadow, a highlighter and a lip color. I bought the NARS stick in Riviera, which is a nice sheer pink that looks fantastic as a blush. It’s not greasy at all and blends very nicely with your finger. It also has a bit of shimmer which, in other colors that aren’t so pink, would work as a great highlighter and eye shadow. I didn’t love the product for my lips though. Stila’s Convertible Color is creamy enough to be used on your lips and still feel like a lip color, but the NARS stick feels too powdery for your lips. If you apply a clear gloss over top it looks a lot better, but definitely not to be worn alone. I also wouldn’t use the particular color I bought for eye shadow, it’s too pink. But Maldives, Copacabana, Palm Beach or South Beach could be used as an eye shadow and the powdery consistency lends itself to the eye area beautifully. It’s a great space saver in the makeup bag if you want to just use one product for a weekend getaway, and it’s very easy to use. Overall, I really liked it for a blush/ highlighter but still prefer the Stila Convertible Colors for multi-use lips and cheeks.
