Origins Clear Improvement Clay Mask

I always feel so decadent when I do a full beauty regime with masks or scrubs, and it’s a great way to unwind at the end of a long day. I use some Origins products for skin care and saw this mask as I was buying moisturizer one day. The Clear Improvement Clay Mask’s active ingredient is charcoal which is supposed to draw up all of the impurities from the skin as the clay dries on your face, leaving your complexion looking clear and refreshed.

I washed my face to remove all of my makeup and applied the mask to my still wet face. It is a bit thinner than other clay masks I have tried, but was very convenient to use because it came in a squeeze tube rather than one of those unwieldy jars. I would recommend putting on a heavier layer because the product seems to work better than if it’s just a thin coating.

It took a while to dry completely, which was fine because I was watching The Bachelor finale- which was really good by the way- and then I went to rinse the mask off. It gets a bit uncomfortable as it dries and it feels like you can’t move your face, and since the mask is charcoal it’s very dark and my dog got very confused when I walked out of the bathroom and started barking at me. It’s definitely one of those embarrassing masks that you don’t want people to see.

I would use a wash cloth to wash it off because it needs a bit of rubbing to remove it all. Once I had finished drying my face, my skin looked and felt fantastic! My skin was so smooth, and I really noticed a reduction in break outs after a few uses. I usually apply the mask once a week, and my skin has been looking great ever since- a great buy!
