I bought the new Dior Addict High Shine Lipstick for the ballet gala that I wrote about yesterday. The girl at Sephora kept raving about how amazing it was, so I thought I would give it a try. I have used a variety of Dior lip products with mixed reviews. I really like the Dior Addict gloss, it's very shimmery and not sticky at all, and the Dior Kiss gloss which is a little heavier than the Addict gloss, but super shiny. I wasn't a huge fan of the original Addict lipsticks. I found them a bit too sheer, gritty because of the high shimmer content and it didn't last very long.Dior claims that this Addict High Shine Lipstick is the first lipstick designed for fashion shows, "featuring extra long wear, extreme show-stopping shine, and light-drenched color. Revolutionary lip-fix powders and micro-polymers cling to lips to prevent smudging. Light reflection is so powerful that wrinkles are minimized and lips look youthfully smooth." Wow, that's quite the claim to say a lipstick can do all of that!
I bought the Addict High Shine Lipstick in Sheer Rose,

which is a translucent warm pink, very pretty for the summer. Like the first generation of Dior Addict lipsticks, the High Sine version is also primarily a collection of sheer colors. The first thing I noticed is that it's much creamier and offers more coverage than the original Addict lipstick. It does have a nice glossy finish, but not as "high shine" as I was expecting, like Stila's high shine lip color which is very shiny. As I wore it through the night, I was surprised at how long it lasted as compared to other high shine products, but don't be fooled, it's not one of those everlasting, kiss proof lipsticks. As far as Dior's claim that it make lips look younger...that's debatable, but it does leave your pucker looking fresh, luminous and sexy. I would definitely buy the lipstick again, but in a different color with a little more pigment to really see how much I really love it.
