As I walked by the MAC store the last couple of weeks, the retro sailor window display kept catching my eye. A woman in a cute stripped swimsuit with dramatic cat eyes and fantastic red lips looked so chic, I couldn’t help but go in and check out the Naughty Nautical line it was advertising. The marketing for this line amazing! If you go to the MAC website there is even this super cute video that is total eye candy. It looks like one of those 50’s beach movies with a little French Riviera flare, as we watch bombshells in bikinis dance around, sailors march in uniform and bathing beauties lie about on yachts. Oh, and song for the video is outstanding, so perfect for the video, it’s called The Mating Game and it’s by Bitter:Sweet. You should download this song, it’s perfect for lounging in the sun drinking mojitos
or caipirinhas this summer! All of the visual references of the video come across in the makeup line, which full of pinks, corals, reds and amazing blues- not a line for the faint of heart. It’s such a fun collection, and so glamorous that I had to feature it! The eye colors can be used as a light wash over the eye lid, or vamp it up for night time. And I love the cateye with dramatic lips, you can’t get more stylish than that in my opinion! The red and coral lipsticks are what really sold this line for me, and the fantastic navy Naughty Nautical nail polish, that seems to be sold out everywhere. I really like how whimsical this line is, and it’s perfect for this time of year.
