While browsing around Sephora the other day, I came across an interesting new brand called LAVANILLA LABORATORIES. The reason it caught my eye was the fact that the label said "Healthy Fragrance" on it. What a cool idea, a fragrance that is actually good for you! Now I know that every brand is trying to go green right now, but there still aren't that may healthy luxury beauty products that are actually worth it. After checking out the rest of the product line and doing a little bit of research, I was pretty impressed by not only the products themselves, but also the company's commitment to healthy living and the environment.LAVANILLA is dedicated to producing luxury products made of all natural and organic materials that promote healthy skin. This is a big departure
from the more traditional luxury beauty products that are full of synthetic materials which can lead to skin irritation, such as parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, synthetic dyes, petro-chemicals, phthalates and triclosan. Who knew all of that crap was in the items we use to beautify ourselves? A bit of a contradiction in my opinion. The base for the whole line is Madagascar's finest vanilla, which acts as an anchor for the top notes - Pure Vanilla, Vanilla Coconut, Vanilla Grapefruit, Vanilla Blossom and Vanilla Lavender. So if you're not a fan of vanilla, this product line is probably not for you. Each of the fragrances also has a matching deodorant (and may I just say that I love that you can get a deodorant in the same scent as your perfume - amazing!), body butter, body wash, lip shine, lip butter and scented candle. The whole body line is loaded with essential oils, antioxidants, vitamins and amino acids that are good for your skin. Even though it seems as though these would be sickeningly sweet scents, they aren't. Each fragrance has a unique fresh bouquet, with a warm vanilla undertone - very lovely. My personal favorites are the Vanilla Blossom, a very flirty blend of crushed orange blossom, rose, jasmine, and karo karounde petals, nutmeg and Madagascar vanilla, and Vanilla Coconut, a more sensual tropical blend of young coconut, hints of monoi Tiare (a Tahitian white flower), and Madagascar vanilla.
LAVANILLA is an eco-friendly company in that all of the packaging is 100% recyclable and because their ingredients are all natural, no damaging synthetic materials are released into the environment during manufacturing. LAVANILLA also does not test on animals. So not only are you getting a fantastic beauty product, but you're also making an environmentally responsible choice. It's a great line with a great goal.
