I first tried out the latest mascara from Cover Girl about a month ago after seeing it being hyped everywhere with Drew Barrymore. I have found the Cover Girl mascaras with the new plastic brushes to be kind of hit and miss: liked VolumeExact, not such a huge fan of the LashExact, so I was curious to see how the LashBlast would pan out.The first thing you notice about it is the huge container, seriously, it takes up a lot of room in your makeup up bag just for one tube of mascara. Why does it need to be that big? I get that the products is supposed to give you the biggest and best lashes yet, but does the container need to be the biggest ever as well? And that's not the only thing that's over sized for no reason, the wand is super thick too. Cover Girl insists that the size of the brush is what gives you the maxed out lashes, but I found it hard to work with especially the tip of the wand. It was too short and stubby to get the more delicate lashes at the corner of your eye.
It's kinda sad that the packaging is holds the product back because the mascara itself is really nice. I got fantastic length and volume with minimal clumping. If you have some of those disposable mascara wands, I would recommend using those to get the harder to reach spots, so you don't end up poking out your eye with the giant wand, and you get the best of both worlds - thick, sexy lashes and you don't miss out on the corners. Overall, I really liked the mascara, but the packaging was a bit too gimmicky for me.
