Around Halloween I wrote a post about the Yves Saint Laurent Gloss Pur Black, and mentioned that a whole Gloss Pur line would be launching in the spring of 2009. Well, they have indeed
released the glosses and they are as great as I thought they would be. These glosses deliver a super high shine without being sticky, think almost a lacquered, or vinyl finish on your lips, it's utterly fantastic. They come in six fresh shades with enough pigment to give your lips color, unlike lip glosses like Lancome's Juicy Tubes, which you think will have a rich tint because the tubes are so brightly colored, but end up being just a nude gloss. And each of the glosses has a light mango scent, so perfect for the tropical shades for spring and summer.
My two favorite things about the the Gloss Pur is that one, there is absolutely not one sparkle in any of the glosses- the colors are vibrant enough and the shine is reflective enough to stand on their own. And two, it has a brush applicator. I can't stand the sponge applicators, or fuzzy brushes that don't pick up any gloss, and even the tubes that aren't as precise as you need them to be when navigating your upper lip. You get a nice precise application with these glosses, which you need when dealing with more intense pigmentation. If you're looking for a more sophisticated gloss, you have to check these out, you won't be disappointed. To read more about the Gloss Pur line, or to see the colors, visit YSL.
